Well our chums seem to be making a bit of a name for themselves recently. One of Lotte’s oldest friends George Mann is bringing his award-winning play to Cornwall. Quoted as being ‘Easily the best thing in Edinburgh this August’ Translunar Paradise sold out at the Barbican this week but you lucky people in Cornwall can see it at The Tolmen Centre in Constantine on Sat 28th Jan. Check out this review from The Stage .
We are very pleased to announce that Telltales and its founder Clare Howdle have been popping up all over the place this week, from The Sunday Times to The Good Times newspaper, created to cheer up commuting Londoners on Blue Monday earlier this week. If you haven’t already got your hands on Issue II of The Parabola Project then you better hurry before they are all gone.
There was a buzz around The Vine office earlier this week when we saw that Mad Man would be coming to our television sets in March. Let the count down begin!
We want to wish you a very Happy New Year. We have been having a look back at 2011 and wanted to share this video with you from the first annual London Surf Film Festival, which took place in October. We think you’ll agree that our friends at Venn Creative did a beautiful job of branding of this rather brilliant festival.
So I (Lotte) watched Home Alone recently which filled me full of Christmas joy and a desire to watch every John Hughes movie ever made (luckily I own most of them). I thought I’d share the Christmas joy by digging out a few snippets of festive filmic loveliness!
As you may of guessed from our photos on Facebook and Twitter (primarily of James Dean and the Christmas tree) Christmas hit The Vine HQ this week. With this year’s HO HO Soul playlist singing out and a mad 15 minutes filled with tinsel, baubles and cut-out snowmen the office was transformed into a festive wonderland.
Also this week a flurry of On The Vine in December newsletters appeared in inboxes across the land. If you missed it never fear, you can have a little peek just here.
We are very pleased to inform you that after smashing its Wefund target The Parabola Project Issue II: Quickening has been sent to print and will officially launch on Tuesday (29th). If you like mince pies, winter Pimms and a good story we suggest you head down to The Rum Bar at 7:30pm to help celebrate the rather remarkable talent that The Parabola Project showcases. Oh and not forgetting that this will also be your first chance to get your hands on a copy. See you there.
If you’re in London around the end of the month we suggest you pop into the Vyner Street Gallery in East London to see a fascinating exhibition of work by visual artist, Lisa Snook. The Ecstasy of Memory exhibition will showcase Lisa’s latest work, which draws from a deep interest in Thanatology, the study of death. The exhibition will add a powerful voice to our cultural and social understanding of mortality and Lisa will be talking about her work at the gallery on the 2nd of December at 2pm. So if you’re in need of a healthy dose of culture head to East London between the 29th of November and the 4th of December. Oh and one more thing, it is absolutely free!
Opening times: 11am - 5pm daily (Thursday 1st December open until 9pm)

Last Friday we made our way up to Bristol for the CIPR PRide awards. As you may remember we were nominated in the category of Best Campaign Under £10,000 for our work on Open Studios Cornwall. Sadly we didn’t win but had a great night, with Chelsea Rose cocktails served in teacups and spending much of the night on the dance floor and in the pop up casino!
